Get Started with Lawn Buddy

Is Lawn Buddy available in my state?

We offer on-demand services in all 50 states. For business management use, your location will not impact your ability to manage your business on the Lawn Buddy platform.

What are the benefits of using Lawn Buddy?

Lawn Buddy is your technology partner that will help you better manage and grow your business! We offer you all the tools you need to succeed, like free customer integrations, automatic invoicing, scheduling, crew managment, and much more! All under one platform!

How do I make sure my notifications are turned on?

Launch the ‘Settings’ app on your phone, then find ‘Lawn Buddy‘ and tap ‘Notifications‘.

How do I sign up for Lawn Buddy?

We suggest signing up on the web if you’re able!

1 Go here, compare plans, and click “Get Started” under the plan that will work best for you.
2 Go through the simple 4-step process of providing your and your company’s information.
3 You will be ready to begin using the Lawn Buddy platform!

If I do not want to download the Lawn Buddy Provider App, can I just use a browser to access Lawn Buddy?

Yes! You can access Lawn Buddy from your laptop, desktop, smartphone, or tablet via your browser. We recommend utilizing our web portal for the majority of your plannning, routing, etc. and the app for day-to-day!

Is my data and my customer’s data secure?

Yes. We will never share or sell your data, or your customer’s data.

What devices is Lawn Buddy available on?

Lawn Buddy is available on all devices (desktop/laptop, iPad/tablet, all smartphones). You can download the app in the Apple Store or Google Play Store; or access Lawn Buddy on the web at pro.lawnbuddy.com.

How do I adjust the mile radius I would like my business to serve?

Click on the menu icon in your navigation bar and open the side menu.

Click on the ‘On-Demand Radius‘ button.

Adjust the slider to set the mile radius you’d like your business to serve for On-Demand jobs. The max radius is 50 miles. If you need a larger radius, contact us, and we can help you with that!

Desktop 

Click on the ‘Company Profile‘ button.

Does Lawn Buddy find you on-demand jobs?

If local homeowners are utlizing our Lawn Buddy Homeowner app, on-demand jobs will show up in your area. These on-demand jobs work on a first come, first serve basis. You will need to make sure that your notifications are turned on in order to know when these jobs are available. Also make sure your on-demand radius is set to however far you are willing to travel!

How can I build a customer base on Lawn Buddy?

Every time you complete an on-demand job, that homeowner becomes your customer for life within the Lawn Buddy platform! You will be able to continue providing services for them. Our Marketing Tool can also help you gain more customers by promoting your company through social media.

Do I have to bid for jobs on Lawn Buddy?

No! The jobs are not assigned. Requests are sent out to all lawn care professionals using the Lawn Buddy platform in your area. It works on a first-come first-serve basis.

Are lawn care professionals on the platform contracted by Lawn Buddy?

No, you are your own boss! Lawn Buddy just provides the easily accessible technology that allows you to manage and grow your business.

Why do I have to take pictures when I complete a job?

The pictures not only help validate your work to your customer, but they also serve as receipts for payments.

Do I gain more on-demand jobs if I get Lawn Buddy Pro?

No, the requests from homeowners are sent to all lawn care companies in your area, regardless of them utilizing the Pro or Lite version. It is first come, first serve.

How do I create accounts for my employees?

Mobile

Open the app and select ‘More‘. Click on ‘Employees‘.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Add a new employee‘.

The employee will receive an email invitation with instructions.

Desktop

Go to the ‘Crew Management – Crew List‘ page and click ‘+‘ to add a new employee.

Complete the form and hit the ‘SAVE‘ button. Make sure that you fill out the correct email. We’ll send the employee an invitation email with instructions.

After completing the instructions from the invitation email, the employee is ready to download the Lawn Buddy Pro mobile app. Have your employee login on the Lawn Buddy app using the email and password from the invitation email. The employee will only access the jobs assigned to the crew that the employee belongs to. The price and the customer’s contact information will not be accessible to the employees.

Does Lawn Buddy have a scheduling feature?

Yes! We actually provide you with 5 ways to view and create schedules.

  1. Home Page – The home page helps you identify overdue jobs quickly.
  2. List View – List View helps you better visualize the schedule by organizing by job status.
  3. Map View – Map View helps you view daily work on a map to quickly and easily schedule work.
  4. Calendar View – Calendar View helps you view work and create jobs on a calendar.
  5. Customer Detail View – Customer Detail View helps you better organize and create job’s based on a single customer’s profile.

How do I create an optimized route list on Lawn Buddy?

The system will collect all of your open jobs on and prior to the current date. Based on your company’s location, it will sort them to create an optimized route list.

How do I integrate customers myself?

If you already have QuickBooks, you can integrate your customers directly from there into Lawn Buddy. If not, watch the video above to learn the easiest way to integrate customers yourself!

Why do I need to add my current customers?

You need to integrate your customers in order for you to be able to use the Lawn Buddy platform at it’s full potential. Once you have your customers integrated, you will be able to invoice electronically, schedule, and communicate with your customers through Lawn Buddy!

Can Lawn Buddy integrate my customer for me?

Yes, there are 3 ways of getting your customer data integrated into your Lawn Buddy account. 

  1. Sign in to your Quickbooks Online account through Lawn Buddy – your customer list will migrate to your Lawn Buddy account within 24 hours.
  2. Send a list to hello@lawnbuddy.com for upload
  3. For customer lists under 30, it is simple to add customers manually. Learn how here.

Can I message my customers through Lawn Buddy?

Yes, all messages are sent to your customer’s email address. They receive a link to click which takes them to your entire chat history. No messages are sent via text message.
